Personal loan, debt consolidation, medical expenses,

Driving under the Influence (DUI) and DUI consequences can be far reaching, both legal and emotional. Considering the rising number of deaths and injuries related to DUI, many states have become outraged this lack of social responsibility are levying stiff penalties on offenders. As a result, having a lawyer to plead your case and who knows the DUI Laws in exchange for a reduced sentence is a must have to stay out of jail. Judges are sending a clear message that such acts of irresponsibility will not be tolerated, in the way of harsh fines and penalties.

Over the past twenty years or so, there have been numerous DUI laws passed related to drunk driving, and the legal age for drinking in all states is now 21 years of age. Underage drinking and driving accounts for a disproportionate number of alcohol related accidents and deaths. As a result, many states are responding with felony charges and extended jail time for offenders.

WPB man charged with DUI manslaughter in death of girl

A West Palm Beach man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence during an Oct. 10 crash on Northlake Boulevard that killed a 10-year-old Loxahatchee girl.

Mark William Bradley, 46, was charged with DUI manslaughter and causing personal injury and property damage, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Bradley was booked into the Palm Beach County jail on Thursday.

Khonii Louis died shortly after the crash at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where she was being treated for severe neck injuries.

The accident occurred just before 2 a.m. east of 140th Avenue North. Bradley had either stopped or parked his Ford F-250 truck in the westbound lane, according to a preliminary report.

A 2004 Honda four-door vehicle driven by Khonii’s mother, Shiin, 44, was headed west on Northlake and struck the back of Bradley’s truck.

Man Gets 2 Years in Prison for DUI-Related Involuntary Manslaughter

A 27-year-old Thoreau man has been sentenced to two years in prison followed by two years of supervised release for involuntary manslaughter stemming from a DUI-related crash on the Navajo reservation in 2008, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Nathaniel Ben Ashley, a member of the Navajo Nation, was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Albuquerque, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales said Ashley pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Nov. 1, 2010, and admitted killing Jimmie Chacho, 75-year-old Navajo man, on Dec. 8, 2008, while operating a motor vehicle and under the influence of alcohol.

The news release said Ashley, who was released under pretrial supervision following his arrest on April 5, 2010, was remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service at the conclusion of Thursday’s sentencing hearing to begin serving his prison sentence.

West Palm Beach man charged with DUI manslaughter for October wreck that killed girl, 10

By Cynthia Roldan

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

A man who was involved in an accident last October was arrested on Thursday
for DUI manslaughter, after investigators determined that his actions caused
the “untimely death” of a 10-year-old girl.

As of 11:30 a.m. today, 45-year-old Mark Bradley, of West Palm Beach, was
being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.

According to an arrest report by the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Palm Beach
County Sheriff’s Office, Bradley was driving westbound on Northlake
Boulevard around 1:50 a.m., on Oct. 10.

As Bradley’s Ford F-350 diesel pickup was approaching Coconut Boulevard, he
lost control of it. He drove onto the median and crashed into a traffic
sign, but continued to drive, the report stated.

Bradley ultimately parked his truck off to the side of Northlake Boulevard
near east 140th Avenue North in a dark area with “little or no ambient
lighting.” But the back of his truck stuck out about 5 feet onto
westbound Northlake Boulevard, investigators determined.

At some point, a Honda driven by Shiin Louis crashed into the part of the
truck that was sticking out onto the roadway, around 1:56 a.m. The crash
injured Louis, and two other passengers, including 10-year-old Khonii Louis.
The report stated that she was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West
Palm Beach, where she was later declared dead.

Back at the scene, Bradley complied with a blood test, that concluded he had a
blood alcohol level of .272 and .273, three times the legal limit of .08,
the report stated. He also admitted to the deputy that he had drank “a
few beers and sake” that evening, the report stated.

Bradley was also arrested for DUI property damage.

UPDATED: Woman Sentenced in Involuntary Manslaughter Case

A woman who pleaded guilty in a DUI-related involuntary manslaughter case stemming from a 2010 car crash on the Jicarilla Apache reservation was sentenced Monday in federal court in Albuquerque to a year and a day in prison followed by three years of supervised release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Richaline Atole, 30, also was ordered to pay $6,163.50 in restitution to cover the costs of the victim’s funeral, according to the news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The news release said Atole, who was released to a half-way house under pretrial supervision following her arrest on Oct. 20, 2010, is required to surrender to a federal correctional facility to be designated by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons within 60 days.

U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales said Atole had entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter and admitted killing Andy Talamante, 41, on Oct. 16, 2010, while operating a motor vehicle and under the influence of alcohol.

Talamante was a passenger in a car driven by Atole that left the roadway when she lost control of it and went airborne, flipping four or five times, according to the news release. Talamante was ejected from the car.

Feb. 15, 2011 — Woman Pleads Guilty To Involuntary Manslaughter

A woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Albuquerque to involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of a man killed in a car crash last year on the Jicarilla Apache reservation, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The news release said that Richaline Atole, 30, a member of the Jicarilla Apache Tribe, entered the plea under a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office when she appeared before Chief U.S. Magistrate Richard L. Puglisi. During the hearing, Atole admitted killing 41-year-old Andy Talamante while operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to the news release.

Atole faces up to eight years in prison, a maximum $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release when she is sentenced, the news release said. The date for sentencing was not immediately set, and Atole remains on conditions of release under pretrial supervision pending the sentencing hearing, according to the news release.

The news release said that according to the criminal complaint, Talamante was passenger in the back seat of a car driven by Atole on the evening of Oct. 16, 2010, and alleges that he was in a hurry to get home and insisted Atole pass a slower moving vehicle.

When Atole attempted to pass the vehicle, she swerved, lost control of her car and went off the side of the road in an arroyo, the news release said. Talamante was ejected from the car and was dead when Jicarilla Apache police officers arrived at the crash site.

The news release said that according to witnesses, Atole’s car had gone airborne and flipped four or five times before coming to rest on the ground. Atole and a passenger in the front seat of car suffered minor injuries, the news release said.

Tests on blood drawn from Atole at San Juan Region Medical Center more than three hours after the crash showed she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.231 percent, the news release said. The presumed level of intoxication in New Mexico 0.08 percent.
